After rocking US box offices with its stupendous success, horror movie “Piranha 3D” will release in India Oct 29 in English and Hindi.
Produced by Dimension Films, it is being distributed in the country by Multivision Multimedia India Pvt Ltd in association with Eagle Video and MGH Enterprises, according to a Multivision statement.
“Piranha 3D will be released all over India in more than 350 screens. The film has done well abroad. We are hoping that people will like it in India as well. It will also release in Hindi,” MGH Enterprises director Ashok Ahuja told IANS.
Directed by Alexandre Aja, “Piranha 3D” is a second remake of the 1978 film after James Cameron’s directorial debut “Piranha II: The Spawning” in 1981.
The series is remembered for unexpectedly putting a spin to Steven Spielbergs “Jaws” formula with a tongue-in-cheek twist.
The movie features an ensemble cast that includes Steven R. McQueen, Jessica Szohr, Adam Scott, Elisabeth Shue, Kelly Brook, Riley Steele, Richard Dreyfuss, Jerry O’Connell, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Dina Meyer, Cody Longo, Ricardo Antonio Chavira, Paul Scheer, Ashlynn Brooke, Gianna Michaels and Eli Roth.“Piranha 3D” is set in Lake Victoria, Arizona, where a tremor causes the lakes floor to open, setting free scores of prehistoric piranhas who break all hell loose in the vicinity.
Piranhas – ravenous, razor-toothed monsters unchanged since the dawn of time are unstoppable killing machines, who act blindly under one primeval impulse – to hunt down anything that moves and strip it to the raw, bleeding bone in seconds.
A sequel to the movie is also in the works.

Today was very full and incredibly productive! Many meetings, finalizing locations, cast rehearsals, etc.
Two of our lead actors, Cody Longo and Walid Amini, are here and have been busy rehearsing. Today, we visited the Good Shepherd School at the OM base and Cody and Walid were able to meet a ton of the kids.

Cassie Scerbo leans on boyfriend Cody Longo’s shoulder as they attend the second day of the annual Dog And Baby Buffet Mother’s Day Event held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, Calif., on Saturday afternoon (May 8).
The 20-year-old actress took to Twitter to talk about her mother’s day and send a prayer for her grandmother, who recently passed away.

Cassie Scerbo gets a birthday smooth from boyfriend costar Cody Longo as she celebrates her 20th at LIV at Fontainebleau in Miami Beach on Friday night (April 2).
The 20-year-old Make It or Break It starlet recently covered NY/NJ’s Steppin’ Out magazine and dished on auditioning for Hannah Montana.
Cassie shared, “I was a part of the original screen test. It was between me and another girl. I won’t say her name but I guess they wanted to go a little bit younger, so they brought in new writers and producers. At the time, everyone was saying, ‘This is yours! This is yours!’ I actually had the contract in my hand. I still have it, but that’s when they decided to rewrite it and go younger.”
And what does she think of Miley Cyrus snagging the gig? “I think she was a great choice. She’s so talented and her dad is great too.”
